It’s Friday!

Yes, that’s right today is Friday and I don’t know what to write about yet.  I’ve gone through and read most of my favorite blogs, which are listed under blogroll.    I’m not even dressed yet.  I keep thinking there is something written in stone somewhere that says I need to be dressed by 9am.  So when it’s almost 11am and I’m  not dressed I feel guilty.  I feel worse when my husband comes home and I’m still in my jammies and that’s anytime after 3pm.

Enough about me and whether I’m dressed or not.

I look around my house and think I really should be cleaning the baseboards.  With two dogs and a cat they can become pretty dirty.   Then I start reading either twitter or plurk.  I find the people there much more fascinating then my dirty baseboards.  Of course that leads to “I’ll clean them tomorrow”.   The next thing that will happen is I’m featured on “How clean is your house” and Kim and Aggie will point out my dirty baseboards.   Really, ladies they are not that bad.  I do mop and sweep just not on a schedule you would approve of.   All Right!  you convinced me I’ll clean the baseboards today, just later, I have more reading to do.

On Sunday, I pulled the tree down out of the garage and put it up.   We didn’t even primp the branches so it looks almost like it did when it came out of box.   I keep thinking if I clean up the living room maybe then I’ll get in the spirit of Christmas.    Our tree comes fully decorated.  It reminds me of something you find in a store display, I think that is actually what it is.

What would people like to read about when I write or should I quit now?  I like clearing out the cobwebs in my head once in a while and I would like to make this a daily ritual I just don’t know what to write about.

Verde Valley Train Ride

Verde Valley Train Ride

All I can say is thank goodness it wasn’t something my husband wouldn’t approved of me putting out in public view.  I can’t believe I wrote that but oh well.  We are a family with no filters, or so I’ve been told.

This picture was taken on the Verde Canyon Train Ride outside of Cottonwood.   I went on the tour with a good friend and took some amazing pictures and some not so amazing.  I have to say if anyone had sat me in a room and showed this picture I would probably of said something “Oh that’s really nice”  and turned to Sean “I hope they don’t make me sit here all night and look at these”.

Since no one even knows about this blog I won’t tag anyone yet.   I have a feeling if Cj finds out about it my blog will be come famous and then I’ll be fighting off the autograph hounds or paparazzi, I can dream can’t I?

If anyone stumbles on my blog and wants to participate  they can do the following and just send me the link.  🙂

This is called the Sixth Photo Meme. If you’re a Flickr user, go to the sixth page of your photostream, choose the sixth photo and post to your site.

The Night Before Thanksgiving

It’s actually already Thanksgiving, it has been for almost an hour.  Time flies when you are searching on the web for some advice on actually cooking a turkey.  Until recently, my husband and I usually ate out.

We had planned on going out somewhere to eat until we had to have our air conditioner fixed this week.  That’s right I live in sunny Arizona and up until today it had been unusually warm.   I mean we still needed to use the air conditioner.   I’ve been waiting for it to cool off here.  I’ve had the door open to our backyard most of the day.

I guess since this my first blog I should say a few things about myself.  I’m a grandmother living out her dreams as a domestic engineer, okay I’m a housewife.   I have three children that are all grown up and all but one has moved out of the house.   My daughter made me a grandmother last year and for a wedding anniversary gift this year she is giving me grandchild number two.   I’ve asked them both to stop procreating but neither my son-in-law or daughter will listen to me.  My oldest son lives in New York, Buffalo no less, I have no idea why he would move from always sunny Arizona to lake effect snow.   Oh, and he doesn’t drive.  So his snow stories can be fascinating.    The third child lives with my husband and I and the only thing I can say right now is, “what bomb went off in his room that did not affect our whole house”.

My husband and I both were previously married.  I’ll keep the ex-spouses out of this journal as there are reasons for them being exes.

Anyway, it’s the morning of Thanksgiving and I’m freaking out about a turkey!  I’ve decided to rub it down with olive oil and some spices.  Every website I’ve gone to mentions spices so I’ll use some of those.   And one site recommended oranges and onions stuffed inside the bird so I’m going to try some citrus, but skip the onions.

I’m sure for my first blog it is boring so I’m going to put everyone out of their misery and go play some x-box for a while since the recipes have started to make my eyes hurt and I’m becoming delusional about turkey.

Happy Thanksgiving!
